Allamburra Organics is certified through the Australian Certified Organic (ACO) system. We are super proud of this certification and for us, becoming certified organic was very important as to make sure our customers could be 100% sure that our products are exactly what they are wanting. Words like 'organic' or 'natural' are too often used in marketing without representing their true meanings. An organic certification is really the only thing that a consumer can rely on as proof of how a farm operates and how the food is produced. A certified farm must meet very specific standards and is regularly audited to ensure that everything is in order. For those who are conscious about how important your food choices are and are making an effort to buy organic, make sure that you check for a certification. This is your assurance that what you are buying is truly organic.
Being certified organic means that our farm does not use any chemicals, we protect the natural biodiversity of our land and we are conscious of our waste production, minimising what we can.
The organic standards relate not only to general farming practices, but also to biodiversity management of the property, the type and quality of feed given to the animals ("you are what you eat eats"), water management, soil fertility and environmental management policies.
Over a lifetime, we can ingest hundreds of kilos of chemicals, putting us at greater risk of diseases, allergies and other health problems. Many of these chemicals interfere with our bodies' natural systems, such as the endocrine and respiratory systems. By using organic products, you minimise your intake of synthetic chemicals (Why Organic, 2016).
